Financial Information
At Austin Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery our goal is to provide the finest diagnostic, surgical and post-operative care to our patients in a professional and compassionate manner. In order for us to achieve that goal, we must deal with our patients in a financially responsible manner. The payment of medical and dental bills is a matter of personal patient responsibility.
Payment is due at the time of service. However, for insured services exceeding $350, we will estimate and collect the portion that will be the patient’s responsibility and will bill your insurance company. If a balance remains after the insurance payment is applied, we will bill you. Conversely, if the insurance payment results in an overpayment, we will refund the balance to you.
We also offer, to qualified individuals, a 12 month no interest finance program called CareCredit. You may apply online or in our office. If you apply online, please be sure to bring all paper work with you when you visit our office.
We will work hand in hand with you to maximize your insurance reimbursement for covered procedures. Please bring your insurance information with you to the consultation so that we can expedite reimbursement.
HMO Patients - If you expect your services to be covered by medical insurance (biopsies, tumors, TMJ, infections, jaw deformities), you must have a referral from your primary care physician (“PCP”). A referral from a dentist is not adequate for medical insurance coverage. Obtaining a PCP referral is the patient's responsibility. If you do not provide a referral, your insurance company will likely deny coverage and you will be responsible for payment of the charges.
