Dr. Barry D. Cunningham, DDS, MSD - Austin Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Dr. Cunningham, a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr Cunningham is a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Cunningham attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas, prior to attending Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. After graduation from Dental School, Dr. Cunningham was accepted into the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency program at Baylor University Medical Center. During his residency, Dr. Cunningham received a grant from the American Cancer Society for research on cancer-producing viruses commonly affecting the salivary glands. This research was the basis for his thesis, for which he was awarded a Master of Science in Dentistry from Baylor University.

Dr. Cunningham is a member of the Capital Area Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (past president), the Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (president 2005-2006), the American Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Baylor Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Alumni Association (past president and recipient of the Van Pelt Award for Scientific Excellence). Dr. Cunningham is a past member of the Texas Board of Health. He is currently the managing partner of Austin Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates.
